ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Prevea Luv2Run (“L2R”) program was developed in 2008 through a partnership between the Boys and Girls Club of Green Bay and the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon.  Beginning in 2013, Prevea Health became the title sponsor of LUV2RUN, adding structured curriculum and training guidance to the program through Prevea Sports Medicine.  The objective of the program is to increase youth interest in the sport of running and increase youth participation in the annual Cellcom Green Bay 5K run/walk. The six week curriculum is designed to cover running basics, provide simple nutrition education, make running fun, and can be facilitated by any adult regardless of running experience.

The framework remains constant throughout all sessions, with the only changes and adjustments coming in the heart rate activity, daily distance run/walk, and the question of the day. Other heart rate activities can be substituted for those listed, as long as all youth are able to be successful in completing them.

The LUV2RUN program was not developed to build world-class distance runners; rather it was developed to engage youth in a positive free time activity that can turn into a life long healthy lifestyle hobby.

Aaron Rodgers encourages youth to join L2R.  Watch the video HERE.
