Courtesy of Nsightand Cellcom, friends and family of marathon and half marathon runners can now sign up to obtain live results via email or text message during the races on May 19th. Sign up will also be available at the Nsight/Cellcom booth during the Prevea Health & Fitness Expo at Lambeau Field on Friday and Saturday of race weekend.

Make sure to stop by the Official Marathon Merchandise booth early to pick up your “must-have” souvenir apparel or premium item. Styles and sizes sell out quickly so don’t delay. 2013 Event & Spectator Guide Now Available

The 2013 Cellcom Green Bay Marathon Participant & Spectator Event Guide is now available for download on the event website. CLICK HERE or on the link below to download a PDF copy of the guide. Printed copies of the guide will be available during packet pick up at Lambeau Field on May 17th and 18th. Based on past feedback from participants, this year’s event guides will be larger (5.5″ x 8.5″) for easier reading of the event maps and other content.

Transfer and race change deadline, prices increase midnight April 30th!

Please be aware that all transfers and race changes must be completed by midnight April 30th. There are no exceptions to this policy. If you are transferring or changing your race category, please click on the “registration” tab above which will take you to our registration page to process your transfer or race change. Buyers of race entries, you also must have your portion of the transfer completed by midnight April 30th; you are not considered registered until you click on the link sent to you via email after the seller has completed their portion of the transfer process and then complete your portion of the transfer. If buyer or seller are awaiting an email confirmation be sure to look in all email boxes, including your junk or spam boxes, you will be looking for emails from “Trusted Partner” or “GoRun.org” not the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon. We advise you do not wait until the last minute to complete your transfer or race change, do it now. This deadline is final.

Tribute to B.A.A. Boston Marathon Planned

The running community is an extremely tight-knit group and as comrades in the industry, the 2013 Cellcom Green Bay Marathon will provide runners, spectators and volunteers the opportunity to pay tribute to the lives impacted at the 2013 Boston Marathon.

All participants in Sunday’s distance events will receive a blue and yellow ‘We Run as One’ silicone wristband in their race packets. The wristbands will also be available for purchase at the expo on race weekend with one hundred percent of the proceeds going to One Fund Boston, Inc., a charity formed by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to help the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013.

Temporary wristbands will be distributed to volunteers and spectators at the start line and finish line areas on Sunday, May 19th. Prior to the start of the distance events, all participants and spectators will be invited to raise their arms in unity and observe 26 seconds of silence in memory of the lives lost and the lives that were forever changed at the 2013 Boston Marathon.

Marathons are a culmination of individual victories, a celebration of vibrancy and health. We want the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon and marathons around the country to continue to stand as such.

In the midst of the tragic circumstances of the BAA Boston Marathon, we want to pass along our prayers to all those involved today and in the days to come.

Several members of the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon are in Boston today, including the race director and personnel from the Prevea medical team who are assisting with the situation. Our thoughts are with the event leaders and public safety officials and everyone who has been affected.

Marathon Fundraisers Needed

With a little more than a month to go and both distance races almost sold out, the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon is seeking fundraisers to take part in its Run for a Reason program. The program offers an easy-to-use web-based platform that makes fundraising simple. After creating a personal fundraising page complete with personal statement and photo, fundraisers are able to email out their page to friends, family, training partners, and co-workers. People who create a fundraising page and raise $300 or more get ONE FREE ENTRY to any Cellcom Green Bay Marathon event (other than the Relay). This means you can still get into the half marathon by helping out our charities. CLICK HERE or on the image below for more information.

Prevea Luv2Run Program Seeks Schools to participate in the Cellcom Green Bay 5K

The Prevea Luv2Run (L2R) program is seeking schools to participate in its training program for the Cellcom Green Bay 5K. Prevea L2R is a six-week program designed to prepare elementary and middle school age children for the 3.1-mile Cellcom Green Bay 5K being held on May 18.

Groups participating in the program are provided with a six-week training curriculum designed by Prevea Sports Medicine, training run supplies and free consultation with Prevea’s athletic training staff. The curriculum can be facilitated by any adult, regardless of running experience.

We provide the tools to make it easy to launch a program at any school. All it takes is a parent, teacher or community member who is willing to step up and support the students. The program is free and students who complete the training are able to participate in the Cellcom Green Bay 5K for only $5. Coaches are able to run for just $10.

The Luv2Run program was developed in 2008 through a partnership between the Boys and Girls Club of Green Bay and the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon to increase youth interest in the sport of running. The program aims to engage youth in a positive free time activity that can turn into a lifelong healthy hobby. Prevea signed on in this year as the title sponsor of the program.

“We are excited to be part of the Luv2Run program as it’s helping our youth become active in a fun and safe environment,” said Ashok Rai, MD, President and CEO of Prevea Health. “This program provides the youth in our community with another form of exercise that they can do their entire life leading to a healthy lifestyle.”
