Cellcom Green Bay Marathon Launches New Year’s Day Event

by

Your Resolution Mile to take place in Downtown Green Bay

The Cellcom Green Bay Marathon wants to help people start 2017 with a fun event to commit to those New Year’s resolutions. The inaugural Your Resolution Mile presented by the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon will take place on New Year’s Day at 10 a.m. in downtown Green Bay. This event is designed to give people a place to take a physical first step towards their New Year’s resolutions.

“Resolutions are usually focused on self-improvement, but it can take a bigger support system to ultimately reach those goals. Your Resolution Mile is an opportunity for people to encourage each other at the start of whatever journey they may be planning for the New Year,” said Toni Jaeckels, race director for the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon. “We’re excited to provide a venue for people to come together and take a first step toward their goals for 2017 as a community.”

Registration is $15 for adults through December 25 and will be $20 on event day. Youth registration is $10. All pre-registered participants will receive a winter hat and a free beer or root beer compliments of Titletown Brewery. A finish line celebration will take place at the Titletown Tap Room following the event and will include warm snacks from Festival Foods.

“During registration, people have the opportunity to submit their New Year’s resolutions and make that commitment to 2017 being the year they start an exercise routine, improve their health, do their first 5K or even run a marathon,” said Jaeckels. “When people cross the finish line on event day, it will not simply be about that mile, but a dedication to the year ahead and the goals that go with it. Every journey will be personal, but we will take those first steps together.”

The event will start on Pearl Street near the Neville Public Museum and travel over the Dousman Street Bridge, down Washington Street and over the Walnut Street Bridge before returning to Pearl Street for the finish. Participants are welcome to run or walk the event and strollers and wagons are welcome.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Cellcom Green Bay Marathon charity partners. For full details and to register, visit http://www.cellcomgreenbaymarathon.com/your-resolution-mile/.
